Zoe M. Boulton died peacefully at home on Dec 3rd, 2014. Throughout her life she encouraged others to do their best, to be compassionate and giving, and to enjoy the blessings given to them. God graced her with patience and wisdom. Strong in faith, she seeks the Lord's home; now her work here is done.
Zoe was born to Morris and Helen (Evenson) Moriarity in Prairie du Chien, WI on Sept 24, 1929. She was raised in the "North Woods" of Wisconsin with her sister Maureen and her brother Morris Junior. Her passions evolved around people, nature, and education.
Zoe was a generous, intelligent, and spirited young woman. She attended the University of Wisconsin, where she met her first husband Charles M. Monnier. They married on Nov 24th, 1949 in Arbor Vitae, WI. This was a time of fruitful family life, education, and career. Zoe completed a degree in Education from University of Wisconsin in 1951, and began teaching. The couple moved to Indianapolis and had two daughters, Laurien Zoe and Diana Lee. Zoe continued her education and completed her Masters in Counseling and Guidance from Purdue. She was a Guidance Counselor for many years (New Palestine School and Perry Township Schools). Her favorite activities were reading, gardening, and enjoying her family and friends. Charlie preceded her in death in 1983, as did their loving daughter, Laurien Zoe, who died in 1968.
On July 29, 1987, she married Rev. Paul C. Boulton at the Wahiawa Botanic Garden in Hawaii. Through this marriage, her family expanded to include five step-children and their families. Paul and Zoe enjoyed a harmonious retirement and an active church life; filled with close friends, laughter, travel, and family. They loved being members of Allisonville Christian Church. Paul passed away in March 2014, and has been sorely missed.
Her dear sister, Maureen (Donald) Schmidt of Woodruff, WI passed away the same day as Zoe. God kindly brought them home together. Zoe is survived by daughters, Diana (Tom) Cleland of Indianapolis; Nancy (Gary) Abshire of Brownsburg; Beth (Rob) Sanders of Avon; sons, Ric (Kathy) Boulton of Nashville, IN; John (Julie) Boulton of Indianapolis; Steve (Anita) Boulton of Indianapolis; as well as 14 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
