Zana E. Smith,82 of Indianapolis, IN passed away unexpectedly on January 4, 2015. She was born on April 28, 1932 in Eastland, Tennessee to the late Ray and Ella (Thompson) Lewis. She worked for many years at Balkamp and was the co-owner of James E. Smith Trucking Co. She is the widow of James E. Smith who preceded her in death on October 1, 1996. Her family was her life and she loved spending time with them. She loved to travel with James in the truck, and visited many places that she would talk to her family about and the experiences she had with him. She is survived by her children, Helen (Buddy) West, Janie (Charlie) Evans, Connie (Don) Caesar, Judy (Bill) Tansel, Teresa (Glenn) Dean Kraft, Rita (Howard) Pavey, Wanda (Billy) Gibson, 13 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, dear best friend Jeanine Burnett, sisters-in-law, Mary Exline, Ann Johnson, Pat Smith and brother-in-law, Bob Smith. Besides Zana's parents she is preceded in death by her sisters, Maebelle Dodson, Lucille Lewis, brother, Sidney Ray Lewis, brother-in laws, Thomas, Bill, John, and Denton Smith. Services for Zana will be held on Saturday, January 10, 2015 at 1PM in Flanner and Buchanan-Decatur Township with visitation there on Friday, January 9th 3-8 PM. She will be laid to rest at West Newton Cemetery.
