Yautra M. Kelpis

Yautra Kelpis passed away on March 31, 2022, at the age of 84. Yautra was born in Bauska, Latvia on February 17, 1938, to parents Anna and Andrejs Krumkalns.  Yautra worked as a claims processor for Farm Bureau Insurance, during her career. She was a dedicated member and Deacon of the Indianapolis First Latvian Evangelical Lutheran Church and active member of the Indianapolis Latvian Community Center.

Yautra was preceded in death by her husband, Peteris “Pete” Kelpis, whom she married on September 1, 1962 in Wisconsin.

Yautra is survived by her son, Erik Viktor Kelpis; daughter, Julie Hartman (David); brother, Erik Krumkalns (Ligita); and nephew, Andris Krumkalns.

Funeral services will be held at 11am on Friday, April 8, 2022 at Spirit of Joy Church, 3535 Kessler Blvd E Dr, Indianapolis. Burial will follow in Floral Park Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Indianapolis Latvian Community Center, 1008 West 64th Street, Indianapolis, or the Indianapolis First Latvian Evangelical Lutheran Church.
