Obituary

Yadelis Aryana Soza-Diaz, 16, of McCordsville, Indiana, passed away on November 9, 2025. She was born on March 14, 2009, in Tracy, California.

To the world she was Yadelis, but to those who loved her she was Yaya a bright, sensitive, fiercely loving soul who was everything we could have ever asked for. Yaya was smart, kind, warm, protective, and full of personality. She graduated from high school at just 16 years old. She dreamed of becoming a NICU nurse, inspired by the compassion and strength she saw in medical professionals. She planned to attend IU one day and was excited for the future she was building.

Yaya loved K-pop and had the entire family listening to it with her. She was passionate and expressive, and she felt deeply. Her heart was incredibly tender she cared for everyone around her, checked on everyone, and always tried to make sure others were okay even when she was carrying her own struggles. Although she was naturally timid and often afraid of the world, with her family she felt safe enough to be her true self playful, bold, and unfiltered. Around them, she blossomed into the girl who joked, teased, spoke her mind, and even put people in their place when needed, always with that unique mix of humor, honesty, and love that only she could get away with.

She was more than a daughter, more than a sister, more than a friend she was the best daughter, the best sister, and everyone’s best friend. She had a gift for making people feel seen and loved, and her presence lit up every room she walked into.

Yadelis is survived by her parents, Martha Radania Diaz and Anthony Arevalo Diaz; her siblings Angel, Ivan, Radania Divina, Anthony Jr., Evan, Liam, and Elijah, and her extended family, who adored her more than words can express.

As Yaya always said, 'I love you in this and all universes.' Her family holds those words close, carrying her love into every universe she dreamed of.
