Wynne Kent Porter, 77, passed away on November 12, 2014 after a long battle with pancreatic cancer. In his final hours, he was surrounded by his family and friends. Wynne was a retired Professional Pharmaceutical Representative from Purdue Fredrick after 30 years and a corpsman in the US Navy. He was a longtime member of Christ Church Cathedral, where he was known for his welcoming hospitality and he served as THE Verger, vestryperson, and acolyte warden. He was also a past vice-president of the Vergers' Guild of the Episcopal Church. Besides his active church life, Wynne was an active Band Parent for the Warren Central Marching Warriors during his daughters' participation and a supporter of all his grandchildren's interests. Wynne took great delight in and loved his children, grandchildren and his great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 38 years, Nikki Porter, his parents, O. H. and Geraldine Porter, and his brother, O. H. Porter III. He is survived by his children, Michael Porter (Patty), Tricia Staudinger (Stan), and Melissa France (Michael); his grandchildren, Andrea Denny, Keith Porter, Alexandrea Staudinger, Emma-Kate Staudinger, Michael France, Brittney France and Sophia France; his great-grandchildren, Juniper Christie and Knute Denny; his sister, Suzanne Fiedler; and his brother, Tom Porter. Services will be on Monday, November 17 at 11 AM at Christ Church Cathedral, 125 Monument Circle, with burial following in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be on Sunday, November 16 from 1-7 PM at Flanner and Buchanan- Memorial Park, 9350 E. Washington Street. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the ALS Association of Indiana.
