Wyndell “Wink” Hennessee, 86 of Indianapolis died June 10, 2018 surrounded by his loving family.
Wink was born December 3, 1931 in Shady Grove, Tennessee to the late Patrick and Lena Hennessee. After school he served his country during the Korean War in the U.S. Army. He moved to Indianapolis where he was employed by Chrysler retiring after 36 years.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years Merle Hennessee; children Lynne Gioe (Kevin), Ed Hennessee (Michelle), and Diane Becker (Jeff Strayer); grandchildren Jeffrey Gioe (Kristen), Matthew Gioe, Erin Becker, Bryan Becker, Katie Becker, Cheyenne Hennessee, and Victoria Shields; great-grandchildren Silas and Ruby Gioe; siblings Opal Chamberlain and Irma Bottorff, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his siblings H.D., Leon, Phillip, Paul, Pauline and Bryan Hennessee.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, June 13 from 4 to 8 PM at Flanner Buchanan – Washington Park East, 10722 E. Washington Street, Indianapolis (across from Wal-Mart). Visitation will also be held Thursday, June 14 from 12-1 PM with Funeral Services beginning at 1 PM at the Funeral Home. Burial will take place at Washington Park East Cemetery.
Memorial contributions in his honor may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
