Wornie Faye (Shell) Cornett, 80 years, 4 months, 5 days old, passed away August 15, 2012 at her home in Trafalgar, Johnson County IN after a long illness.
She was born April 10, 1932 in Marydell, Laurel County KY the daughter of Taft and Thelma (Howard) Shell and granddaughter of Henry Dixon and
Nannie Slusher Shell and Annie Ashley Howard.
Wornie had worked as an Avon Representative for 20 years in the Indianapolis area and prior to that worked as a secretary for Zehner Construction in Valparaiso. She loved her God, country, family, children, flowers, gospel music and reading. Wornie was a member of Community Caring and Sharing Church, Indianapolis.
Mrs. Cornett is survived by her two daughters, Jean Martin and Willa Dean Fleck; two sons, Gary and Mitchell Cornett; grandchildren, Julie Martin, Sherry Lovins, Thelma Carter, Diana Weber, Shawna Ping, Stacie Meador, Sarah Cornett, Gene Stambaugh, and Alisha Wilson; nine great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; brothers, Paul Shell, Manchester, KY, Dan Shell, Blackwater, KY, Taft Shell, Norwalk, OH, and John Shell, Cincinnati, OH; sisters, Dortha Dot Sutton and Joyce Jo Sears, both of Cincinnati. Sisters-in-law Johnnie Hall Cornett, Lake Station, IN, Emily Scalf Cornett, London, KY, and W Jean Hill Cornett, Waverly, OH. Also many friends, nieces, nephews and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Gene Cornett and daughter, Brenda Faye Meador; sisters, Helen Short and Diane Hartwell and brother, Henry Shell.
Services will be 2:00 P.M. Saturday, August 18, 2012 at Flanner and Buchanan-Floral Park Holt Rd, with visitation from 12:00 P.M. until service time Saturday, August 18, 2012 at the funeral home, Pastors Ted Stephenson and Robert Stone officiating. Burial will follow in Floral Park Cemetery. Pall bearers, Gary and Mitch Cornett, Jim Fleck, Harry Lovins, John Adams and David Fulcher. Map available after service for family hospitality location.

Those that knew her loved her for the unique personality she was. Those that didn't take the time to know her missed and opportunity to experience a
special person. She will be missed by many but her memory will live on through her family and friends.
