Wilma June (Ison) Sarver passed away Wednesday, March 9,2016. She died peacefully in her sleep. Born to Fred and Luella (Mitchell) Ison October 24, 1929 in the beautiful hills of Monroe County Indiana. She was the third of four children, and only daughter, born to Fred and Luella. There were also three brothers: Robert, Eugene and Ronald (who are all deceased). She grew up on a small farm outside of Bloomington, Indiana. Wilma lived during the Great Depression so life was hard at times but she always spoke of how happy she was during those growing up years. She and her brothers performed as a singing group and her father sang in a quartet. Wilma is survived by her husband of 54 years Thomas B. Sarver. Wilma had four children and they were Larry, Kenny, Doug and Jeff. Three of the boys live locally in central Indiana with their families and Larry's home is in West Palm Beach, Florida.
Wilma loved life even though the last few months were a struggle as her health failed. She loved her family very much and was devoted to her husband Tom and her sons. She had many grandchildren and great-grandchildren and loved to visit with them as often as she could. She loved music, especially gospel, art and literature. She had a special love for the poetry of James Whitcomb Riley which she enjoyed sharing. Her favorite Riley poems were 'Out To Old Aunt Mary's, 'The Raggedy Man' and 'Little Orphan Annie' which she could recite by heart. Nothing pleased her more than being asked to recite one of these poems.
Wilma was a very religious person who loved the Lord and was a prayer warrior. Many of us have been glad recipients of her prayers over the years. She loved her church, Calvary Tabernacle, and attended regularly until her health began to decline.
This was a great Lady who will be missed every day. Goodbye Mom with all our love!
