Willie J. Davidson 81, passed away Sunday, October 28, 2012. He was born in Gate City, VA on December 28, 1930 to Nathan and Chloe Hammonds Davidson. Willie was a member of Good Shepherd United Methodist Church. He served in the US Army from 1951 to 1953. He was a Machine Operator at Navistar for 38 years and a member of UAW Local 98. He was an avid sports fan. He loved working in his yard, watching classic movies, listening to Bluegrass music and spending time with his family. Willie was an amazing man and will be remembered most for his kind spirit. He is survived by his children; James Davidson and Lisa (Larry) Shoemaker; sisters, Lena Faye White and Ruby Spears; grandchildren, Kurt (Jojo) Shoemaker and Kaitlin Shoemaker; great grandchildren, Peyton, Lily and Colton, several nieces and nephews and host of friends and family. Willie was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 51 years, Nancy; brothers Kimp and Gene Davidson and sister Audrey Dorton. Friends may call from 4-8 pm on Tuesday, October 30, 2012 at Flanner and Buchanan – Memorial Park , 9350 E. Washington Street., Indianapolis. Funeral Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday October 31, 2012 at the funeral center. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Donations may be made in his memory to The Good Shepherd United Methodist Church 2015 S. Arlington Ave., Indianapolis, IN 46203 and the American Cancer Society, PO Box 22718, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma 73123-1718.
