William L. Snapp II
89 of Spencer, IN went to be with the Lord on Saturday October 23, 2010 at Owen Valley Nursing Home. Born October 3, 1921 in Edwardsport, IN, he was the son of the late William and Gladys Snapp. He graduated from Swiss City High School and enlisted in the Navy served with Yellow Jackets. He later earned a Bachelor's degree. He worked at the Indiana School for the Blind, and after retiring, worked at Kroger in Bloomington. He married Mona Lewing and had two children and later divorced. He was the sculptor of the "SOUL" statues which are on display at Indiana University and in Russia. He also painted and enjoyed being outdoors planting flowers and working in his yard. Surviving are five grand children, sixteen great grand children, and one great great grand daughter. He has a sister-in-law, Jeannie Snapp, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister, Sybil Jameson, a brother, Emmons Snapp, his two sons, Don Snapp and Gary Snapp, his granddaughter, Traci Snapp, and his grandson, Tony Snapp. Visitation will be Friday, October 29, 2010 at Flanner Buchanan Funeral Center-Washington Park East from 11 am till the time of service at 12 Noon. Burial will follow in Washington Park East Cemetery.
