William “Phil” Kiskaden, of Indianapolis, passed away December 14th, surrounded by his loving family at the age of 84. He was born May 2, 1935 to parents John and Eva May Kiskaden in the town of Laurel, Indiana.
Phil earned the rank of a Commissaryman Petty Officer 2nd Class in the United States Navy before being honorably discharged. He proudly served on the USS Mississinewa (AO-144) from May 19, 1952 – June 21, 1957. During his years of service, Phil was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Navy Occupation Service Medal and Good Conduct Medal.
In 1957 Phil left active duty and was released to the Navy Reserve until 1960. During this time Phil obtained a job-setter position with Ford Motor Company. During his life, Phil was a hard worker and a large supporter of all things American made, especially Ford vehicles. In fact, if he wasn’t working, you could probably find him washing his Ford (or any other Ford he could find).
On February 24, 1965 Phil married the love of his life, Marlyn “Kay” Kiskaden. Together they built a simple but fulfilling life together. Phil and Kay have lived happily together for more than 54 years.
After almost 43 years of service Phil retired from Ford Motor Company on April 28, 2000. Phil enjoyed his retirement by spending more time with his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife: Kay; one son: Phillip “Greg” Kiskaden (Rudonna); one grandson: Phillip Kiskaden II; many nieces and nephews: Trinity Woodall, George Smith, Rick Grizzell (Michele), Christy Sizemore (Joe), Debbie Berry (Ron), Dawn Smith (Ben), Melinda Waymire (Jeremy), Jeanne Hazelbaker (Todd), Cathy Bristow, Jeff Davis, Linda Beckett; and countless other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his three sisters Irene, Evelyn and Lora Mae.
