William Louis Barker, Sr.
89, of Indianapolis, passed away May 1, 2011. He was born in Fayetteville, Ohio, on February 26, 1922 to the late James and Bernice (Kelly) Barker. He was a United States Army veteran, serving in World War II. William retired 1982 from Conrail, where he worked as a railroad engineer. He is survived by his daughter, Marsha (Paul) Servaas; brother, James (Joyce) Barker; and grandchild, Nicholas Servaas. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Elizabeth; son, William Barker, Jr.; and brothers, Jack, George, Paul, Earl “Pat,” and Alfred “Knute” Barker. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, May 5, 2011, at 12 p.m. at Flanner and Buchanan Funeral Center-Washington Park East, 10722 E. Washington Street.
