William Lee Reel

William Lee Reel

87, passed away in Indianapolis on January 4, 2016. He was born in Paris, France to the late Leonard R. Reel and Alice Clements Reel on January 7, 1928. He graduated from Shortridge High School in 1946. He was a member of the Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity at Purdue University and graduated in 1952. He worked full time in the family business, Reel Pipe and Valve Company, where he was a member of the management team. He was a member of Tabernacle Presbyterian Church. He is survived by his son, Joe (Linda); daughters, Susan (Warren) Griffin and Sally Delehanty; son, John; brother, John C. Reel; grandchildren, Boogie, Alison, Matthew, Sarah, Wesley, Jordan, Marisa, Joe, Reid and Conor; great-grandchildren, Violet and Victoria. He was preceded in death by his wife, Gloria Lee Boughton Reel; sisters, Suzanne Iverson, Elizabeth Cooper and brother, Leonard R. “Frenchy” Reel. A celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, January 9, 2016 from 3 to 7 p.m. at the Rathskeller. A private graveside service will be held at Crown Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Tabernacle Presbyterian Church, 418 East 34th Street, Indianapolis, IN 46205. Arrangements handled by Flanner and Buchanan-Broad Ripple.
