Mr. Steele was born in Havaco, West Virginia to parents Edward Steele and Annie Small Steele. He attended Arsenal Tech High School. After high school, he joined the United States Marine Corp, and then joined the Army and received honorable discharge. He went on to Ivy Tech College, where he obtained a certificate in Statistical Control.
Mr. Steele was dedicated and hardworking supervisor at Ford Motor Company for thirty years, before retiring in August 1999.
Mr. Steele loved entertaining his family and friends. He liked to talk about politics and keeping up with world events. He read the paper every day from front to back. Those who knew him well called him “Baby Joe”.
Mr. Steele married Pamela Bell, the love of his life, and they were married over thirty years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Joann Robertson, and brother, Edward Steele, Jr..
He leaves to cherish his loving memory, love of his life, Pamela; two sons, Jerry and Greg; three daughters, Felicia, Tina (James) and Shawn; eight grandchildren Jamal, Terrance, Deion (Johanna), Deja, Decarlos (Ruby), Priest, Justice, Jashard, Jazmin, Ashlee, and Taylor; 12 great-grandchildren; 10 nieces and nephews, and host of extended family and friends.
Mr. Steele departed his life on Friday, September 10, 2021, at the age of seventy-six.
