William James "Bill" Henry 82, Indianapolis, passed away, June 6, 2011 surrounded by his family in his home. He was born on June 25, 1927. Bill is survived by his loving wife of 64 years Betty (Hemphill) Henry. He is also survived by six children: Constance (Earl) Thompson, Carol Leaf, Linda Anderson-Hardwick, Michael Henry, Mark (Linda) Henry, Steven (Angela) Henry, 20 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his mother Marie (Doane) Jackson, father James E. Henry, stepfather Earl Jackson two daughters, Patricia Henry and Sandra Groce, son William "Joe" Henry, granddaughter Lori Leaf, and two great great-grandchildren, Daniel Anderson and James Leaf. Mr. Henry was a member of the Wayne Guthrie Lodge #753, Scottish Rite, Murat Shrine, VFW and the Murat Shrine for 32 years. He also served 17 years in the Merchant Marines. He was a Golden Gloves Boxer as well as a stock car driver at the Indianapolis Speedrome (Kitley). He was also the proud owner of Bill's Auto Sales and an active member in the Ben Davis Christian Church. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 PM, Saturday, June 11th and also Sunday, June 12th from 2 to 8 PM with a Masonic service at 7 PM at Flanner and Buchanan Funeral Center-Floral Park. Services will be Monday at 2 PM at the funeral center.
