William G. Henthorn

William Gordon Henthorn, age 95, died June 6, 2025 at Miller’s Merry Manor in Warsaw, IN, where he resided after a fall from which he never fully recovered. He was born on December 24, 1929 in Indianapolis to Frank D & Thelma E Henthorn. William “Bill” was a graduate of Arsenal Tech High School and attended Butler University. He married Patricia June Heun on August 27, 1950, who was the love of his life. She passed on August 26, 2010, one day before their 60th wedding anniversary. Bill & Patti moved to Ft Wayne, IN for a short time where he was manager of a Singer sewing machine store. In 1960, they moved back to Indianapolis to join his father at Henthorn Mower & Engine Service. He became President and eventually purchased the family business. He later became a partner in Lifestyle Distributors which handled the sales & marketing of products such as Kero-sun®, Water Saver®, Tarn Pure® and Nature Ice®. They were longtime members of Colonial Hills Baptist Church. Later in life Bill & Patti relocated to Bonita Springs, FL, where they found a wonderful church family at Gospel Baptist Church. He served for many years as Chairman of the Board of Deacons. In 2020 Bill moved to Warsaw, IN to be closer to his family. 

Bill lived a full life. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, flying his planes, racing go-karts and trapshooting, He still holds the IN-state record in trapshooting for the Parent/Child singles event with a score of 398 out of 400. He was a member of The Gideons International and loved discussing & sharing articles from the Institute for Creation Research. Bill was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Patricia; daughter, Sandra Lee Henthorn; and son, David A. Henthorn. He is survived by his children, Julie Henthorn (Robert) Schneider, William (Bobbi) Henthorn, John (Margarita) Henthorn, Laura (James) Nitschke; and daughter-in-law, Susan Henthorn; 16 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. Bill will be missed; however, he is at home with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 12, 2025, at 2 p.m. with visitation starting at 1 p.m. at Flanner Buchanan - Washington Park East, 10722 E Washington St. Indianapolis, IN. The burial will take place in Washington Park East Cemetery following the service.
