William Harold Rees

William (Bill) H. Rees, 93, passed away December 29, 2017. Our Father was born in Redkey, Indiana June 26, 1924 and resided there at his death. He was a member of the Fellowship Baptist Church in Portland Indiana. He proudly served in the US Navy during WWII and then took on a greater challenge by raising six children. He loved sports, and playing cards, which brought out his competitive side and he carried this winning competitive attitude throughout his 93 years! Bill was preceded in death by our Mother Patricia Rees and our sister Kathy (Rees) Lawrence. He is survived by his children, Kenneth Rees, Sue (Rees) Thornton, Danny Rees, Kevin Rees, Donnette (Rees) Linker, 17 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren, His current wife Mary, and the many friends he touched in his life. We ask that you join us for a Life Celebration for Dad “Bill” on the evening of January 11th from 6-8PM at Flanner Buchanan-Oaklawn Memorial Gardens (Conner Suite), 9700 Allisonville Rd. Indianapolis IN. For those unable to attend the 11th, there will also be a memorial service held on Sunday January 21st at Fellowship Baptist Church, 289 South 200 West, Portland Indiana. Visitation will be from 2-3PM with a Service at 3:00PM. The family asks that in lieu of flowers you make contributions to your favorite charity of choice, in honor of William Rees.
