William Brian Easton, 77, passed away on May 5, 2025 in Carmel, Indiana. His long battle with serious health issues and a recent fall that brought him insurmountable pain and struggle, showed his courage for facing life challenges with a smile and laughter. Brian was a true example of strength, courage, patience, and faith. His loving, jovial nature was admired, and he left a beacon of light for all who knew and loved him.
Brian’s small hometown of Bicknell, Indiana is where he met the love of his life, Mary Denise Byrne. They began dating in high school and attended Indiana State University together. Brian and Denise were married in 1970 and moved to the Indianapolis area to start their lives together. They spent 55 loving years together.
He was always a very active man who loved the great outdoors. Brian loved to fish, play golf, engage in sports, hunt for mushrooms every spring, and work in the yard. For many years, you could find Brian, rain or shine, out digging holes and making his yard what he wanted to be a beautiful canvas. Brian was extremely artistic and creative and had a talent for drawing and writing. Brian was responsible for drawing the Indiana State mascot and the crest for Pike High School where his wife taught. He even wrote a children’s book he always dreamed of publishing.
Brian was an incredibly had working man, working long hard hours his entire life. While he graduated with an economics degree, his work history found him exploring different directions. Early in his career, he served as an air traffic controller for the Indianapolis Airport followed by serving as a manager of the Children’s Palace Toy Store. Brian went on to work as a driver and later a manager of United Parcel Service. He also served in management for Watkins, PepsiCo., and FedEx.
Brian was an incredible, loving, devoted father to his one daughter, Christie. He was also and incredible Pepaw to his four beautiful grandsons: James (15), Garrett (14), Isaiah (12), and Patrick (11). He loved spending time with them swimming, watching the boys play sports, helping with homework, and teaching the boys all he knew. He was their everything!
He is survived by his loving wife Denise Easton, his daughter Christie Buonanno (Nathan), his four grandsons: James, Garrett, Isaiah, and Patrick Buonanno, and his brother John Easton.
Preceding Brian in death were his amazing parents George and Genevieve Easton and his brother Steve Easton.
Visitation will be held on Friday, May 9, 2025 from 10:00 am – 11:00 am at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church. The funeral mass will be celebrated immediately following in the church at 11:00 am. The graveside service will be on Saturday, May 10, 2025 at 1:00 pm at the Bicknell Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Bicknell, Indiana.
