William Duke

William R. Duke, 97, of Indianapolis, passed away, Tuesday, November 5, 2013 at Kindred Healthcare in Greenfield, IN. He was born March 7, 1916 in Scottsville, KY, the son of Perry and Lou Jane (Hughes) Duke. He retired in 1978 from Western Electric. He was preceded in death by his wife, Geneva M. Duke in 2004. He is survived by his children, Robert L. Duke and his wife Betty of Fishers, IN; Jan Cheek of New Palestine, IN, Patricia Burris of Ellenwood, GA, Sherry Turner and her husband Rick of New Palestine, IN; 11 grandchildren, Debbie Shockley, Diane Lott, Denise Jones, Dana Green, Rob Duke, Linda Wells, Rick Wells, Roger Burris, Tony Burris, Alyssa Wells and Andrew Prange; 15 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren; and his sister Alva Owens of Bowling Green, KY Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM on Saturday, November 9, 2013 at Flanner and Buchanan-Washington Park East, 10722 E. Washington St., Indianapolis, 46229. Funeral Services will be held 1:00 P.M., Saturday at the funeral home with burial in Washington Park East Cemetery.
