William Lee Cripe Sr. was born October 12, 1936 to Ruth Reynolds Cripe and Herbert W. Cripe in Frankfort, Indiana. He passed away October 27, 2014 at the age of 78 in Zionsville. He attended Indiana State Teachers College before joining the U.S.Army in 1958. He is survived by his wife of 54 years Ann Roberta (Birdie) Cripe and two sons William Jr. (Stephanie) and Robert (girlfriend Wendy) and two grandchildren Carly and Liam Cripe. Bill was a long time Zionsville resident and a 1956 graduate of Eagle Township High School. He held a master barber license and owned Bill's Barbershop on Main Street before pursuing a career as a professional photographer. He photographed weddings, families, seniors, and sports in Boone County for the past 35 years before retiring.He was a member of the Zionsville American Legion Post 79 and a charter member of the Zionsville Volunteer Ambulance before it became part of the Zionsville Fire Department.
Graveside services will be Friday, October 31, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at the Zionsville Cemetery on Zionsville Road with calling two hours before the service at the Flanner and Buchanan Funeral Center-Zionsville.
