William C. Hunt, age 92, passed away peacefully with his family at his bedside on October 15, 2016, following an extended illness. He was a longtime employee for Cordage Paper Company, retiring in 1988 after thirty seven years of service. Bill was a longtime member of the Church of Christ, faithfully serving over twenty years with the West Washington Street congregation and forty five years with the High School Road congregation in Speedway Indiana. He enjoyed gardening and being a master repairman for nearly every gadget and appliance in his home, offering a helping hand to all friends and family members who needed his innovative yet simple fix-it solutions. He loved his grandchildren and great grandchildren and enjoyed family get togethers and board games and all of the noise of a household full of laughter and fun.
Bill is preceded in death by his parents; Willie D. (Jack) and Mona Hunt, son; William Larry Hunt (USMC), brothers; Ernest Hunt, Clarence Hunt, Lawrence Hunt, and Fay Hunt; and great-granddaughter baby Abbi Collins. He is survived by his wife of seventy-four years Delca (Bosley); son Michael (Sharon); sister Katherine Arden, brothers Burl Hunt and Ray (Willa Mae) Hunt, grandchildren Elizabeth Janes (Jeremy), Jennifer Collins (Bill), and Michael II (Jamie); great-grandchildren Anthony Henson, Madison Collins, Charlotte Janes, and Jaxson Collins.
Family and friends may visit for the calling from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. on Friday, October 21, 2016 at Flanner and Buchanan – Floral Park 425 N. Holt Road Indianapolis, Indiana. The funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, October 22, 2016 at the funeral home. Bill will be laid to rest at Floral Park Cemetery following the funeral service.
