William "Bill" Pfeifer, Jr.

89, formally of Indianapolis, IN, passed away peacefully on December 28, 2024 in Fisher, IL. Born on December 11, 1935, in Newark, New Jersey, he was the cherished son of William, Sr. and Victoria Hanson Pfeifer.

Bill was a man who found joy in the simplest of pleasures, particularly during his time spent working the land, planting crops such as corn and tomatoes. His nurturing spirit reflected not only in his gardening but also in his dedication to family, as he devoted every moment shared with his loved ones. Above all, he exemplified kindness and warmth, always welcoming others with an open heart.

A proud veteran, Bill served his country with honor in the National Guard, reflecting his deep commitment to service and community. His legacy of love and strength will carry on through his beloved children: daughter, Elizabeth Pfeifer (Dave Morgan Jr.), and sons Mark Pfeifer (Rebecca), John Pfeifer (Michelle), and Matthew Pfeifer (Marissa Reich).

Bill was also a devoted grandfather to 12 wonderful grandchildren—Stephanie, David, Alex, George, Grace, Caleb, Jacob, Arabella, Ben, Sarah, Robby, and Anna—and a great-grandfather to four beautiful great-grandchildren, Arabella, Austin, Aamiyah, and Adrian, who brought immense joy to his life.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Gladys Pfeifer; his parents, two sisters, and son Robert Pfeifer (Mindi).

Visitation will be on Thursday, January 09, 2025 from 4 to 8 p.m. EDT at Flanner Buchanan Washington Park North, 2706 Kessler Blvd West Drive, Indianapolis, IN 46228. In lieu of flowers, family requests donations be made to the Alzheimer or Parkinson’s Association in honor of Bill.

A second visitation will be at 11 a.m. EDT at St Monica Catholic Church prior to the funeral. Funeral services will on Friday, January 10, 2025 at 12 p.m. EDT Friday at St Monica Catholic Church (6131 Michigan Road, Indianapolis, IN 46228).
