William “Bill” Maus Johnson, 61, of Speedway, passed away Monday, October 11, 2010. He was born on November 6, 1948 in Cass County, IN to Robert Lee and Audna Faye (Maus) Johnson. Bill was a graduate of Logansport High School and served his country in the Navy for 4 years during Vietnam. He earned his Bachelors Degree from Indiana University, Bloomington and his Masters Degree from IUPUI. Bill was involved in the Logansport Elks Club, VFW and American Legion. He is survived by his mother, Audna; his wife of 33 years, Susan (Missman) Johnson; daughters, Maggie and Emilee Johnson; grandson, Everett Melody. Bill is also survived by his brother, Edwin David Johnson and sister, Laura Lee Sechen. He was preceded in death by his father. A Memorial Mass will be held at St. John’s Episcopal Church, 5625 W. 30th St., Speedway, on Friday, October 15, 2010 at 10:30am. Guests are invited to stay for a reception immediately following the services. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Culver Military Academy c/o Culver Educational Foundation, 1300 Academy Rd #153 Culver, IN 46511 or to St. John’s Episcopal Church-Speedway.
