William John McDonnell
89, of Indianapolis, IN passed away on October 10, 2014. He was born on July 20, 1925 to Bernard and Margaret McDonnell. William worked for Eli Lilly and retired after 33 years of services. He was a proud WWII Navy veteran. William enjoyed scouting for 55 years and received the prestigious Boy Scouts volunteer award, the silver beaver. He was a member of the Tuesday group at Camp Belzer and Old Bethel United Methodist Church. William enjoyed fishing, hunting and the outdoors. He is survived by his wife of 64 years Helen McDonnell; sister, Janet (Ken) Sterrett and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents; son, John McDonnell and brother, Ken McDonnell. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 14, 2014 from 4pm-8pm at Flanner and Buchanan – Washington Park East, 10722 E.
