William “Bill” Allen,

73, of Indianapolis, passed away on Monday, May 30, 2016. He was born in Indianapolis to Robert and the Late Mary Ellen (Switzer) Allen on Sunday, May 2, 1943. Bill grew up in Indianapolis, graduating from the Indiana Soldiers’ and Sailors’ School.

Bill worked at several places around Indiana over the years, exploring his love of entrepreneurship. He started his own tree service company, and also did pretty much any kind of repair work that was asked of him. He loved fishing, playing poker, and taking trips to Las Vegas. He was a hardworking and outgoing man who told things like they were. He loved being the center of attention wherever he went, and everyone he met was a friend.

Bill is preceded in death by his mother, and his wife of 41 years, Linda Allen. He is survived by his children, Brant Thacker (Shelli), Corey Allen (Jennifer), and Amber Allen; and his grandchildren, Thomas Thacker, Mattie Thacker, Gavin Carrico, Max Allen, Ian Carrico, Willow Carrico, and Henry Allen.

Visitation will be held on Friday, June 3, at Flanner and Buchanan – Memorial Park, 9350 E. Washington Street, Indianapolis from 4pm – 8pm. Funeral Service will take place there on Saturday, June 4, at 10am. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery immediately following the service.
