William Larkin Begley, 87, passed away Saturday, February 14th, 2026. He was surrounded by his loving family.
Bill, as he was called by family and friends, was called to preach at a young age. He lived his long life serving Jesus and teaching his family and others about scripture. He especially loved to teach about Bible prophecy.
As a child he would watch serial westerns in the local movie theater. He especially loved Roy Rogers and Dale Evans and dreamed of meeting a blonde like Dale and getting married.
He joined the Navy in 1955 and was honorably discharged in 1959. An especially beloved memory of Bill’s is the time he was able to sing in the Billy Graham crusade choir at Madison Square Garden in 1958 while he was docked in New York harbor.
Bill eventually found his blonde and married her years later. His soulmate, Jonell, precedes him in death. Bill and Jonell Begley raised seven wonderful children at their home in Monrovia, Indiana.
Mr. Begley is survived by his seven children; Shirley Cherry (Larry), Kevin Burnette (Amanda), Marty Burnette, Clay Begley (Sherry), Brenda Begley (Darrell), Jeff Begley (Robyn), and Tosha Orr (Mike); nine grandchildren, Kevin “Bub” Burnette, Jr., Anita Kiser, Michelle Davis, Kenny Moses, Joshua Moses, William Burgess, Connor Begley, Cody Burnette, Jeremiaha Burgess; 24 great-grandchildren, Kyle, Kesha, Austin, Megan, Tristan, Treydan, Emily, Nevaeh, Heaven, Shelby, Trinitee, Destiny, Priscilla, Arianna, Karyon, Alexander, David, Willow, Steven, Jocelyn, Damon, Logan, Chase and Hunter; 4 great-great grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews and countless children by love and not by blood.
He is also survived by one brother, Charles Begley of Indianapolis, IN and many beloved nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Jonell (2018); his parents McKinley Begley and Millie Mullins; two sisters, Regina Sexton, Sylvania Napier; three brothers, Chris Begley, Wayne Begley, and his twin Jesse Lee Begley. He is also preceded in death by daughters-in-law LuAnne Begley, Abby Brookes, and son-in-law William Burgess; and one grandchild, Chad Burnette.
