William B. Young,
72, of Avon, passed away on Wednesday, November 13, 2013. He was born on April 19, 1941 in Indianapolis, IN to Earl and Martha (Becker) Young. Bill attended Shortridge High School and graduated from Avon High School in 1959.
He served his country honorably in the U.S.A.F and graduated from Purdue University in 1975. Bill worked as a draftsman for Eli Lilly, retiring in 1998.
He enjoyed anything to do with the Civil War, including attending and participating in reenactments. Bill also loved history, cowboy action shooting and bowling in various leagues in the area. He was also a gifted artist who enjoyed painting and photography.
Bill is survived by his children, Lisa (Bill) Hopf and Douglas Young; grandchildren, Ryan and Elizabeth; brother, Jim Young. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 48 years, Quinderia Anne Young who passed away in 2010.
Funeral services for Mr. Young will be held at Flanner and Buchanan – Speedway on Monday, November 18, 2013 at 11am. Visitation will be Sunday afternoon from 1-4pm, also at the funeral home. Burial will take place at West Ridge Park Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
