William B. Doron

William B. Doron, 95 of Indianapolis, formerly of Carmel, passed away Monday, April 13, 2015. Bill was born July 2, 1919 in Washington, DC to the late William and Edna Dial Tillman Doron. Bill enlisted in the United States Army in 1941 and served 4 years in the Army Air Corps during World War II. After being discharged he attended Washington University in St Louis and Bowling Green University in Bowling Green Ohio on the GI bill. In 1953 Bill married Jeanne Lods in New York City; a marriage that lasted 62 years, until Jeanne's passing in March of 2015. Bill and Jeanne raised 3 children, moving from Long Island, New York to the Midwest in 1972 Bill was director of finance at Evanston IL based Shure Electronics, retiring in 1989. Upon retiring Bill and Jeanne moved to Hot Springs Village, AR where they enjoyed golfing, gardening, traveling, and socializing with their many friends. They returned to the Midwest and settled in Carmel and were able to spend time with all of their grandchildren. Bill and Jeanne were active members of Carmel Lutheran Church. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am Friday, April 24 at Carmel Lutheran Church Prayer Chapel, where family and friends are invited to gather from 10:00 am until the time of the service. Bill was the widower of Jeanne Lods Doron. He is survived by his children, William B. (wife, Christine) Doron, Jr., Paul T. (wife, Susan) Doron and Jennifer (husband, Robert) Borchardt; grandchildren, Katharine C., William B., III, Alison J., Samuel T., and Meredith M. Doron. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Dolly and Gertrude. Memorial contributions may be made to Carmel Lutheran Church or the Alzheimer's Foundation.
