Wilbur Dean Batman
79, of Indianapolis, passed away on Monday, March 25, 2013. He was born on May 24, 1933 in Palestine, Illinois to Charles Alvin and Mabel Levica (Ayers) Batman. Dean was a U.S. Air Force Veteran. He worked as a System Engineer for the FAA, retiring in 1984. Dean also worked as a computer lab technician for IPS, retiring from there in 1999. He loved to fly planes of all kinds, and was one of the founders of the Indy Flyers Club. Dean was a 50 year member of the Masonic Lodge #500 Evergreen Oriental and longtime member of Westview Christian Church.
He is survived by his wife of nearly 60 years, Harriet J. (Hoffman) Batman; children, Carol (Debbie Mundy) Batman, Pam Smith, Kevin (Beth Ann) Batman; granddaughters, Brittany (Chris Hammer) Batman, Morgan Barnard, Lorne Batman; great-grandson, Tyler Barnard. Dean is also survived by sister, Carol Sue (Frank) Binder. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services for Mr. Batman will be held at Flanner and Buchanan – Speedway on Saturday, March 30, 2013 at 1pm. Visitation will be 2 hours prior to the service. Entombment will take place in Crown Hill Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to Westview Christian Church
