Wesley H. Hendee entered into the presence of his Lord and Savior March 10, 2015. He was 85. Wes was born in Chicago, Illinois, on July 17, 1929, to the late Wesley B. Hendee and Jean Rose Hendee. He graduated from Lane Tech Prep School for boys in 1947, then attended college for two years.
Wes's working career began at the age of 12, pumping gas at a station run by his father. As an adult, he worked various jobs, finally settling into selling copiers for a number of companies. About 1979, Wes started his own business, Wes Hendee Copier 1. He retired to Florida in 1990, where he started up his business again. He retired a total of 3 times – each time restarting his business – and ending with mainly refilling cartridges for business machines. During his working tenure, Wes won many awards and trips. He was a true salesman, even to the point of loving to have garage sales just so he could sell!
Wes met the love of his life, Jane, at the wedding of both their best friends. They married in 1957, had five children: Kim Hendee, Karen Shank (Dave), Richard Hendee (Lavonne), Joyce Yake (Donavon), and Sheila Birdsfield (Jeff). Added to this is 14 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Wes moved his family to Indianapolis, IN in 1973, where they attended Kessler Krest Baptist Church, and there began a relationship with Jesus Christ, whom he is enjoying eternal life with today!
