Indianapolis, Indiana – Wendell Leroy Bryan passed away on January 27, 2024, while being comforted by his family. Wendell was born on November 4, 1940, to Roy Kendall Bryan and Margaret (Butcher) Bryan in Spencer, Indiana.

Wendell served in the United States Navy, and after leaving, began working at Ford Motor Company. He retired after 37 years of service in 1997.

Wendell enjoyed spending time away from work as well. He could be found building models, watching game shows, or fixing cars for his children. However, he most loved spending time with his beloved wife of 59 years, Carol, and the rest of the family. Summers would be filled with camping trips across the country, taking in the sights with his children, then grandchildren, and then great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Wendell is preceded in death by his brother Lloyd Edward Bryan; and sons Kenneth Bennett and Mark Bryan; grandson Jeremy; and great-grandson Easton.

He is survived by his wife Carol; his children Jim Bennett (Teresa), Sheri Bennett-Fasbinder, Kimberly Green (Tom), Patrick Bryan (Brenda), Mike Dean Bryan; brother Clifton Bryan (Donna); sister-in-law Francis; daughters-in-law Melissa and Eliva; 49 grandchildren; 59 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 10, 2024, from 10 am – 12 pm at Flanner Buchanan – Memorial Park (9350 East Washington Street, Indianapolis, Indiana 46229) with funeral services immediately following at 12 pm. He will then be laid to rest at Memorial Park Cemetery.
