Wayne Charles Russell

Wayne Charles Russell, born May 19th, 1951, in Cheyenne, Wyoming, raised in the state of Washington, son of Charles (deceased) and Darla Russell.

United in marriage to Carol (Jeffers) Russell for 43 years until her passing in 2022.

Father to Kevin (Treasa) Russell, Carrie (Ien) McClinie, Grandfather to Kayla Russell, Zoey McClinie, Great Grandfather to Shelby and Stella Russell, Brother to Janene Russell, Norma Searter-Casas, Deceased brothers; Jim, Les, and Rick Russell , Brother-in-Law to Pat and Marty Broderick, Uncle to Bud, Moe, Becky, and Robin; Great Uncle to several nieces and nephews.

Wayne retired from the Marine Corps with the rank of Master Sargent, after 22 years of service. After retiring, he worked for Mayola Dairy in New Bern, North Carolina for 19 years.

Wayne and Carol made the move to Indiana in 2016 and both worked for Franklin Township Transportation, where he was a special needs bus driver for 7 years.

Wayne's military service took him to California, Iowa, Japan, and his last duty station Havelock, North Carolina. He loved being a Marine and he enjoyed his time working with special children.

Wayne will be missed especially by Boo Boo, his companion this last year.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 2, 2024, from 11am-1pm at Flanner Buchanan--Washington Park East. A funeral service will immediately follow the visitation beginning at 1pm. Wayne will be laid to rest in Washington Park East Cemetery.
