Wayne Marion Grady, Jr. 66, Indianapolis, passed away July 19, 2013. Wayne was born in Indianapolis, IN (Franklin Township) on May 19, 1947 to parents, Wayne Marion Grady, Sr. and Norma (Norcutt) Grady. Wayne graduated from Franklin Central High School. He served his country in the U.S. Army as a helicopter mechanic during the Vietnam War. During his career, Wayne worked as an automobile mechanic then later as an industrial forklift mechanic. He would eventually work his way to co-owner of Peter's Industrial where he retired from in 2007. Wayne was a member of the American Legion Post 220, where he had served as a Post Commander; the NRA; and the VFW. He was a kind, generous man who had a great sense of humor and loved to be with his family. He loved to keep himself busy in the outdoors deer and turkey hunting in Spencer, IN and tending to his garden, which he said was his therapy. Family was very important to Wayne, he will be lovingly missed by his wife of nearly 46 years, Mary Ann (Worthington) Grady; parents, Wayne and Norma; children: Jim Grady and Lori Brooks; brother, Phillip (Janie) Grady; sisters, Kathy (Randy) Kimbrell and Sandy Grady; grandchildren, Michael Grady, David Grady, Jesse Grady, Nicholas Horton and Heather Horton; and great-grandson, Aiden Harper. Friends may call from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Wednesday, July 24, 2013 at Flanner and Buchanan- Washington Park East, where services will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, July 25. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial contributions be made to the American Legion Acton-Bunker Hill Post #220, 8202 E. Raymond Street, Indianapolis, IN 46239.
