Wayne Gossman
Age 76, of Indianapolis, passed away June 28, 2016. He was married to Harriett Gossman for 56 years. They had three married sons, Alan (Anne) of South Haven, Michigan and their children: Brandon, Andrew and Cynthia; Greg (Dana) of Charlestown, Indiana and his children, Erin and Morgan from his first wife, Kelley; and Cliff (Karen) of Cary, Illinois and their children: Kevin, Kate, Alyssa and Reid; and four great-grandchildren, Lyric, Baleigh, Chase, and Cade.
He began work as a television cameraman for WISH-TV in Indianapolis and then entered organization management as a career. He managed the Chamber of Commerce in Noblesville, Indiana, Rochelle, Illinois, Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin and Eau Claire, Wisconsin.
He was a graduate of the Principles of Organization Management program at Michigan State University, Advanced Management Studies at Notre Dame University and Post Graduate studies at the University of Colorado. He also attained status as a Certified Tour Professional from the National Tour Association. He managed the Muncie, Indiana Tourism Bureau and most recently was Director of Tourism for Clark and Floyd Counties for 22 years. He was formerly an active member Cook’s United Methodist Church, where he sang in the choir, and was currently a member of Good Shepherd Church. He served on the Board of the Howard Steamboat Museum, and served as president for three years.
Calling will be held from 5pm until 8pm on Thursday, June 30, 2016 at Flanner and Buchanan- Washington Park East, 10722 E. Washington Street, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 1st. Entombment will follow in Washington Park East Cemetery.
