Wayne Faist

November 23, 1937 — April 20, 2013

Wayne A. Faist, 75, Indianapolis, passed away on April 20, 2013. He was born November 23, 1937 in Freeport, IL, the son of the late George and Julia (Frej) Faist. He received his Bachelor's degree in Commerce from the University of Notre Dame in 1959, married his college sweetheart, and began his career in international trade. He received his MBA degree in International Business from DePaul University in Chicago while working as assistant manager for RustOleum Corp. In 1968, he came to work as Director of International Marketing for Jenn Aire Corp. in Indianapolis. A few years later, he struck out on his own in sales, and after health problems in the mid '90's, he "semi-retired" into real estate. He enjoyed his hobbies of reading, antiques, finance, and card playing. He and his wife were members of Mud Creek Players for a number of years, thoroughly enjoying the camaraderie, activities, and people. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Adrienne (Schneider), four children, Michele (John) Wilcox, Martine (Doreen) Faist, Jeanne Collins, Paul (Tami) Faist; six grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren, and a sister, Nancy Marten of Marquette Manor. He will be sorely missed by his family and friends. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 23, 2013, at St. Matthew Catholic Church, 4100 E. 56th St. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. with a rosary service to begin at 7:00 p.m. Monday, April 22, 2013. at Flanner and Buchanan – Broad Ripple, 1305 E. Broad Ripple Ave. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Kidney Foundation of Indiana. You are invited to go to the Guest Book page to pass along your personal message or tell a story.
