Wayne Edward Crist

Wayne Edward Crist, 72, Indianapolis, Indiana passed away on Wednesday morning, April 5, 2023 at his residence in Indianapolis. He was born on July 4, 1950 in Noblesville, Indiana to John and Dewey Jean Crist.

Wayne married Deanne Davis on July 31, 1996 in Gatlinburg, Tennessee. She survives in Indianapolis, Indiana.

He is also survived by sons – Jeremy (Julie) Crist, Jason (Kim) Crist; step-children – Tara Schmiedel, Rhett (Deborah) Schmiedel, and Ashley (Daniel) Haney; Brothers – Ken (Debby) Crist, Ronnie (Nora) Crist; Grandchildren: Owen and Adam Crist; Tori and Nolan Ross, Gwen Schmiedel; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Wayne was preceded in death by his father – John Edward Crist, mother – Dewey Jean Crist-Matherly, and sister – Sharleen Diann Crist.

He was a 1968 graduate of Marion-Adams High School, Sheridan, Indiana where he had 12 years of perfect attendance and lettered in athletics.

Wayne worked at RCA Records of Indianapolis, JennAir of Indianapolis, Gene B. Glick Company of Indianapolis before his retirement.

He enjoyed time with family, football, softball, radio control cars, playing darts, and racing.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation or the Humane Society of Indianapolis.

Cremation Rites will be accorded. Flanner Buchanan Washington Park East Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
