Wayne A. Newman, 94, of Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away on June 18, 2021. He was born in Williamsburg, Indiana to the late John and Maude Newman.
Wayne graduated from Economy High School. He retired in 1996 from life long work int he dairy industry which included AMPI, Maplehurst, and Borden Dairy companies as quality control manager.
Wayne was a US Army Veteran of WWII serving in the Pacific Theatre. In 2018, he had the wonderful opportunity to participate in The Honor Flight to Washington D.C.
In 1951, Wayne married Nancy Bovard and were happily married until her death in March 1999.
During retirement, Wayne enjoyed visiting and helping his brother on Willard’s farm in Economy, Indiana. Wayne also enjoyed volunteering at the Indiana State Fair Pioneer Village. He liked reading, crossword puzzles, yard work, and spending time with his family.
Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Nancy, 2 brothers, a sister, and brother-in-law.
Wayne is survived by his loving daughters Kathryn, Carol, and Janet along with their spouses, 6 grandsons, 3 granddaughter-in-laws, 5 great grandchildren, and his brother Willard.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, Willow Grove Cemetery, or your favorite charity.
Services are being held Friday June 25, 2021 at Flanner Buchanan – Speedway (2950 N. High School Rd). Visitation will be from 9:30 am to 11 am with funeral services to begin at 11 am.
A procession to Washington Park North Cemetery will follow where there will be a small committal service with Wayne being honored by the U.S. Army along with a 21 gun salute, before Wayne is laid to rest.
