Warren Sobat

January 31, 1964 — July 5, 2013

Warren Daniel Sobat 49, of Greenwood, Indiana, died unexpectedly on July 5, 2013 after a long struggle with depression. He was born January 31, 1964 in Indianapolis, Indiana to William and Judy (Anderson) Sobat. Warren attended North Central High School, the IUPUI School of Journalism and graduated with Honors from Ivy Tech Community College. Warren worked as a CT technologist at Johnson County Memorial Hospital for 15 yrs. He was also as a Sales Consultant with Hubler Acura. Warren had a talent for writing and was an award-winning and published freelance journalist. Motorcycling was a passion he introduced to and shared with his father, Willie. Together, they spent many wonderful times with the Motorcycle Sport Touring Association. An avid reader who enjoyed cars, cigars, music and great food, Warren loved spending time with his family, especially his wife Lori and daughter Sydney. Warren is survived by his devoted and patient wife Lori Lavengood; the light of his life, daughter Sydney Sobat; father William Sobat Sr. and step-mother Barbara; brother William Sobat, Jr. (Kim) and half-brothers Adam (Shiloh) and Elliott; niece Anna Sobat and nephew Willie Sobat. Warren was preceded in death by his mother Judy; grandparents Frances and Samuel Sobat and Genevieve and Ted Anderson. A memorial service will be held Thursday, July 11th at Flanner and Buchanan – Zionsville, 105 W Pine Street Zionsville, IN 46077 at 6pm, with visitation from 4pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the National Alliance on Mental Illness, Indiana. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home or donations can be mailed directly to NAMI-Indiana PO Box 22697 Indianapolis, IN 46222.
