Warren Kennith Hollis
91, of Whitestown, IN died January 4, 2013. He was born October 15, 1921 in White House, TN to the late Robert A. and Lela (Warren) Hollis. Ken served his country as a Navy pilot during WWII. A graduate of DePauw University, Ken was Vice President of College Life Insurance and President of College Park Credit Corporation. He was a member of St. Luke's United Methodist Church.
Ken is survived by his daughter Shelley H. Leinicke and her husband Steven of Ft. Lauderdale, FL and his son Mark N. Hollis and his wife Lecia of Whitestown, IN. Ken is survived by his four grandchildren, Dr. Jennifer Leinicke, John Leinicke, Sarah Hollis, and Kennith Hollis, and one great-granddaughter, Natalie Barnicle. Ken was preceded in death by his sister Gwendolyn Goodrum.
In his leisure time, Ken was a beekeeper and won awards for his honey at the Indiana State Fair. Ken was an active member of St. Luke's United Methodist Church and particularly enjoyed participating in outreach ministry and Habitat for Humanity. He was proud of working on more than 100 missions and building projects throughout the United States and other countries.
Visitation will be held at Flanner and Buchanan Zionsville, 105 W. Pine, on Friday, January 11, 2012 from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Services celebrating Ken's life and faith will be held Saturday, January 12th at St. Luke's United Methodist Church, 100 W. 86th Street, Indianapolis, IN 46260 at 2 p.m.
