Warren Martin was a loyal and dedicated American Railworker starting his career as a brakeman for the Pennsylvania Railroad and worked for Penn Central and ConRail before retiring with 40 ½ years of service. Warren started his career at the end of the locomotive era and was committed to his vocation while working tirelessly in all forms of inclement weather and job conditions. Mr. Martin worked in Indianapolis at both the Hawthorn and Avon Rail Yards and made regular rail runs to St. Louis and Petersburg, IN.
Mr. Martin loved the outdoors and the enjoyment of outdoor activities. He was an avid pheasant and quail hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed raising hunting dogs and gardening. He had a tremendous sense of humor, enjoyed good fun, and was loved by all who knew him.
In retirement, Warren tended to the family farm in New Hope, Indiana raising cattle and working on the land. The couple retired to Florida in 1985 and lived most recently in the Westchase, FL area.
Warren Austin Martin was a man of God and his family is comforted by the fact that he is now in heaven with Jesus and with those that passed before him. He was 91.
