Wanda Sanders, 1922-2014
Nine children called her Great-Grandma,
Seven children called her Grandma,
Four children called her Mom.
One man called her his Wife and the love of his life.
Wanda Mae Caloud Sanders was born in Rice Lake, Wisconsin on May 12, 1922. She left her earthly home on October 2, 2014 at the age of 92. Wanda graduated from the Mercy Hospital nursing program and served our country as a registered nurse in the U.S. Navy during World War II. In 1948 she married Benjamin F. Sanders from Kenosha, Wisconsin, and the couple moved to Indianapolis where they raised their four children: Sherry Schlosser (Tom), Sue Case (Monte), Carol Brunty (Michael), and Jeffrey Sanders (Sheri). She was preceded in death by her husband, Ben, her sister Glenice Weldon, brothers Kenneth Caloud and Lyle Caloud. She leaves a legacy of teachers, speech pathologist's, engineers and nurses in her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In addition over the years she served many patients in her capacity as a nurse in the greater Indianapolis area. Visitation will be held October 6, 2014 at Flanner and Buchanan, Washington Park East at 10am with Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00am, and internment following.
