Wanda M. Thompson, age 80, of Cape Coral, Florida, passed away on June 29, 2023, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on July 25, 1942, in Indianapolis, Indiana, to her parents, Herman and Helen Wims. Wanda’s life was defined by her compassion and an adventurous spirit.

Wanda’s journey began in Indianapolis, where her devotion to helping others led her to a fulfilling career as a nurse. Her final nursing assignment was at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Cape Coral, Florida, where she continued her life’s work of providing comfort and care to those in need.

Outside of her profession, Wanda’s thirst for exploration and adventure was insatiable. She possessed a deep love for travel and embraced the opportunity to immerse herself in different cultures and landscapes. Wanda’s adventurous spirit took her to remarkable destinations, including the Caribbean, Egypt, Peru, Africa, and the Amazon.

In her personal life, Wanda’s love extended to her family, who brought immeasurable joy and fulfillment to her days. Her husband, Jon Seehawer joined her on travel adventures and shared her love of nursing. Wanda’s dog Maxx was her constant companion.

Wanda’s love and devotion further extended to her daughter, Monica Brunn, and grandson Dylan Johnson. She cherished her role as a mother and grandmother, offering guidance, wisdom, and unconditional love.

The family will hold a graveside service to celebrate Wanda’s remarkable life on Wednesday, July 5, 2023, at

3 PM at Washington Park East Cemetery, located at 10612 E Washington St. Indianapolis, Indiana, 46229.

In honor of Wanda’s memory, memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society. Wanda had a deep love for animals and recognized the importance of their welfare. By donating to the Humane Society, we can honor her compassion for our furry friends and support the organization’s efforts to provide care, protection, and advocacy for animals in need.
