Walter G. "Wally" Wright
80 of Indianapolis, IN passed away October 16, 2012. He was an uncomplicated man, plain and simple. Loving the simple things in life at his own speed and on his own terms. A fun spirit, very respectful of his friends, kind and gentle, an often reflective man of few words with very strong convictions. Wally was born on November 7, 1931 in Hammond, IN the son of Vester and Francis B. (Kalp) Wright. Wally retired from the U S Army after 24 years of service. He had served during the Korean and Viet Nam Wars, his last duty station was Ft. Benjamin Harrison in Indianapolis. He was a member of Moose Lodge # 17, VFW and American Legion Post 777. Survivors: wife, Jackie (Huntington); children, Rick (Jeanette), Ruth (Bob), Angie (Brian), Matt (Rachel) and Joyce (Donald); sisters, Alice, Peggy and Nancy; brothers, Richard, Eddie and Bobby; 8 grandchildren And 1 great grandson. He was preceded in death by his parents, several brothers and sisters, 1 granddaughter and 1 great granddaughter. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 pm Friday, October 19, 2012 and after 12:00 noon on Saturday at Flanner and Buchanan – Washington Park East 10722 E. Washington St. Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm Saturday, October 20, 2012 at the funeral center. Burial with Military Graveside Rites will follow in Washington Park East Cemetery.
