Walter 'Red' A. West

Walter “Red” A. West, 69, of Indianapolis, passed away on Monday, June 27, 2011. He was born on August 25, 1941 in Anderson, Alabama to Walter and Lois (Johnson) West. Red worked as a Furnace Operator for GM and a Benefits Representative for the UAW Local 933, retiring after 32 years with the company. He enjoyed golfing and loved attending his grandchildren’s sporting events. Red was a member of the Masonic Lodge, and the Moose Lodge 518. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Joyce (Watkins) West; children, Billy West, Joe (Brenda) West, Bobby (Missy) West, Pam (Tom) Hynes and Lori (Jim) Porten. Red is also survived by his 12 grandchildren, and one great-granddaughter. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother Jim and sister, Ginger Eacret. Funeral Services will be held at the Flanner and Buchanan Funeral Center-Speedway on Thursday, June 30, 2011 at 7:30pm. Visitation will be from 4pm until service time, also at the funeral home.
