Walter Lee Bishop

Walter Lee Bishop, age 81, died February 16, 2016 atMethodist Hospital surrounded by his beloved family. He was born in Butler,Pennsylvania, on August 9, 1934. He was the eldest son of Dewey and NellieBishop. He grew up in Speedway, Indiana and graduated from Speedway HighSchool. He was an electronics salesman and was employed for many years atBlock’s and L.S. Ayers. Walter married Mary Jane (Hamilton) on May 21, 1955, inIndianapolis. He and his family have been members of Speedway Christian Churchfor over fifty years. He was known as “Mr. Fix-it” as he enjoyed and could fixanything. He was knowledgeable and loved tinkering with cars and enjoyedtraveling. He was preceded in death by his parents and younger brother, GeriBishop. He’s survived by his wife of 61.5 years Mary Jane (Janie), his childrenAdam and Beth Ann, and his grandchildren Melissa and Amber. A visitation willbe held at Flanner and Buchanan-Speedway, 2950 N. High School Road onWednesday, February 24, 2016 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. Then on Thursday, February25 visitation at 11am to Noon. Followed by the Funeral Service at Noon.
