Virginia Mae Dinkel

Virginia M (Littrell) Dinkel 88 of Speedway died September 19, 2015. Virginia was born on December 29, 1926 in Nelson, Nebraska to Paul McFeeley and Hazel Ada (Mullet) Littrell. Virginia graduated from the University of Nebraska with her BS in Home Economics. She married G. James "Jim" Dinkel on March 02, 1952 in Nelson, Nebraska. Virginia was a member of the Speedway United Methodist Church as well as the church secretary retiring in 1991. She was also involved in the Order of Eastern Star, Home Makers and the White Cross Guild. She loved to sew, knit, crochet, needlepoint, cross stitch as well as do crewel work, ribbon needlework and beadwork. She made baby bonnets for the I.U. Health Cancer Center and she was a volunteer at the Indiana State Museum. Virginia was preceded in death by her son Paul George Dinkel and a brother Robert Littrell and a sister Dorothy Jensen. A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday September 22, 2015 at Speedway United Methodist Church Chapel 5065 West 16th Street Speedway at 4 pm with calling from 2 to 4 pm. Virginia is survived by her husband Jim Dinkel, their children David Alan (Alejandrina) Dinkel, Gary Bruce (Laurie) Dinkel and Beverly Jean (Wayne) Popham and her sister Marian (Max) Rogers and five grandchildren, Rachel Popham, Jacob Dinkel, Becca Popham, Jennifer Dinkel and Carlos Dinkel. Memorial contributions may be given to the Speedway United Methodist Church 2015 Capital Campaign Fund at church. Online condolences and a video tribute may be viewed at www.flannerbuchanan.com
