Virginia “Ginny” Rowell Linder, 82, of Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away into the arms of our Heavenly Father on May 14, 2024. She was born in Pittsburgh, PA and attended West Liberty University, WV. Ginny met Bill Linder in 1956 and they became high school sweethearts. They were married in 1962 and moved to State College, PA. After graduating from Penn State in 1964, Bill accepted a position with Eli Lilly and Company, and the couple moved to Indianapolis, IN, where Ginny began a long career as a loving wife and mother of four daughters.
Ginny lived a life filled with accomplishments and dedicated herself to serving others. She worked for State Farm for many years, and volunteered for the Assistance League, The Daughters of the American Revolution, Community North Hospital, Indiana State Museum, and The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis. She attended Bible Study Classes for over 30 years in Indianapolis and Punta Gorda, FL. Ginny was an accomplished golfer and achieved two holes in one at Old Oakland Golf Club.
Ginny is survived by her husband of 61 years, Bill; daughters: Denise (Greg) Rosebrough, Beth (Mike) Piegsa, Pamela Linder, and Kristen (Tony) Ianni; eight grandchildren: Paige Sims, Erin Elsey, Matt Rosebrough, Joey, Alex, and Marisa Piegsa, and Livia and Anthony Ianni; and two great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Judy, from Lexington, KY, and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 24, 2024, at E. 91st Street Christian Church, 6049 E. 91st St., Indianapolis, IN. Visitation will be held at the church from 10:00 a.m. to the time of service at 12:00 p.m. Ginny will be laid to rest with a private family burial.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis, or The American Cancer Society.
