Virginia "Joyce" Williams

Virginia Joyce (Fulk) Williams, CPA

Joyce was born March 29, 1932 on the family farm near Coal City, IN; the daughter of Warren G. Fulk and Grace M. (Joyce) Fulk.  The family moved to Washington, IN when Joyce was a child.  She graduated from Washington High School in 1950, and later graduated from IUPUI in 1976.

Joyce married Harold E. “Gene” Williams on May 20, 1951, who precedes her in death.  Children include Charles Williams, Janice Roach, and Cheryl Dawson (husband Larry).  Grandchildren include Cristen Roberts (Matt) and Abigail Barker, and great grandsons Zachary and Jeffery Roberts, all of whom survive.

Joyce began her working career with American States Insurance. Upon passing the CPA exam, she became controller for the law firm of Baker & Daniels, and later the office manager for Lowe Gray Steele and Hoffman law firm.  Upon retiring, she continued practicing as a CPA with her small CPA/tax firm of Impact Consulting, Inc.  Joyce was a member of the Institute of Management Accountants for over 40 years.

Joyce loved travel and cruising and visited over 39 countries.  She played bridge regularly and shared this past time with many close and longtime friends.

Joyce was a member of the Franklin Road Baptist Church since moving to Indianapolis from Vincennes, IN in 1969.  She taught an adult Sunday school class for 40 years, and served as Financial Secretary for over 20 years.  Memorial contributions may be made to the church.

Visitation will be Saturday, December 23, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM.  Her funeral will begin at 3:00 PM, all at Flanner Buchanan Memorial Park, 9350 E. Washington Street, Indianapolis, IN 46229.

Pastor Chuck Circle of the Franklin Road Baptist Church will officiate.
