Virginia 'Ginny' Duncan

Virginia "Ginny" Tappan Duncan 72, of Noblesville passed away July 24, 2014, surrounded by her family. Ginny was born March 17, 1942 in Woodstock, Illinois to Donald F. and Helen (Beck) Tappan who preceded her in death. She was a graduate of Woodstock Community High School, class of 1960, and received a degree in elementary education from Illinois Wesleyan University in 1964. She met her future husband William L. Duncan while a student at Illinois Wesleyan and they were married on June 27, 1964. She learned the love of travel from her parents and traveled frequently with her husband and friends. The couple recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a riverboat cruise in Russia. Ginny is survived by her husband; two children Steven Tappan Duncan of Fishers and Paige Kristine Kane (John) of Carmel; five grandchildren Riley and Taylor Duncan, Sydney Brandl, Hallie and Duncan Kane and a sister Patricia Tappan Hackley of Anchorage, Alaska. Ginny was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority; PEO of Noblesville; and was a longtime volunteer at Riverview Hospital in Noblesville, Conner Prairie and the Indiana Transportation Museum. She was a member of Noblesville First United Methodist Church. Visitation will be held on August 1, 2014 from 1pm- 3pm, with a memorial service beginning at 3pm. Memorial contributions may be made to the following organizations: The Riverview Memorial Foundation, First United Methodist Church of Noblesville and The American Cancer Society.
