Virginia Sue (Ginger) Cammack Meckel 96, Greenfield, was called home to be with the Lord on March 21, 2026. Ginger was born on December 17, 1929, in Minneapolis, MN to the late Stanley D. and Greta Pring Cammack.
Ginger had many talents and passions in this life. She was an avid gardener, quilter, painter and miniaturist. Her love of cooking and entertaining made every holiday a special occasion for her family.
Ginger was a member of several quilt guilds. She also spent many hours creating miniature projects with her dearest friend, Toni Smith. In 1999, Ginger had a featured exhibit at the Irvington House where dozens of her houses and vignettes were on display.
Ginger is survived by her sons, David (Marsha) Meckel and Phillip Meckel (Becky Harrison), 2 granddaughters, 4 grandsons and 8 great-grandchildren. Ginger was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Jack Meckel; her son, Michael Hanna and a great-granddaughter; and her brother Stan Cammack Jr. Per Ginger’s request, there will be no calling.
A private family service will be held. Memorial contributions may be made to the animal shelter of the donor’s choice or to the Alzheimer’s Association.
